A short report of their activities during the last year:

  • Presentation “Rights of Crime Victims” legal project to many non-governmental organizations, in coordination with the Office of Victims Atention from Public Minister.
  • Active participation in the constuction of the Pénsum in the Study of Crime carrer at University Rafael Landívar,  including Victimology among the courses taken. 
  • Participation as information resource in research about  females victims of homicde in Guatemala.
  • Presentation of the “Rights of Crime Victims” legal project to The Journalist Womens Web in Guatemala.
  • Visiting the International Penal Court, at La Haya, Holanda, in order to contact the Victims program and the fiduciary fund for  indemnifying poor crime victims.
  • Participation at the Forth Victimology and Victim Assistance trainning done at University Centroamericana –UCA- from El Salvador, with endorsement of the World Society of Victimology.
  • First contact with the Population Fund of the United Nations to present the AGV.
  • Preparation and start-up of a project to create a victim/witness program for those called before Supreme Court.
  • Presentation of the ”Rights of the Crime Victims” legal project to: the Relatora of the Interamerican Court of Human Rights; to Susana Villarán, guest of the First Lady of the Republic of Guatemala, at the reunion at the Salón de los Espejos in the Presidential House.

Membership requirement for the Association are that a member must:
  1. Be a natural Guatemalan.
  2. Being an honorable person.
  3. Being older than 18 years old.
  4. Pay the membership fees.
  

 Among all our objectives, the most important are: 

  • Encouraging victimological research,
  • Production of  research material on the topic, 
  • Create gender sensitive victimological models,
  • To promote victimological work trhough the web.
