Membership Privileges

Members are entitled to receive:

  • WSV’s newsletter, The Victimologist.
  • They get reduced registration fees for the triennial symposia.
  • Members may vote on WSV issues.
  • Members may nominate and elect members of the Executive Committee and WSV Awardees.
  • National and regional societies and associations who are members of the WSV may send a representative to all Executive Committee meetings.


The greatest privilege of membership is the active network of concerned members worldwide. The WSV brings people together from all over the world. They are active on different levels within victimology. They are involved in research and in teaching. They are active in victim services. They are implementing, enforcing and rallying for victim rights.

The WSV advances research, services, and awareness for victims. The Strategic Plan serves as guideline for the continuing improvement of WSV.

To fulfill its mission, the WSV has developed standing committees. Members are encouraged to actively participate in the work of the Society.  If you're interested in more information on working on or with a committee, please see our Committee descriptions and Chairperson contact information.
